What 6-7 means and why the children’s trend is dying out
- The numbers six and seven have been causing chaos in classrooms across the UK – and it’s all because of a viral trend.
- Children have been saying 6-7 in a (highly irritating) sing-songy voice that’s leaving both parents and teachers feeling exasperated. When belting out the digits, kids often move their hands back and forth like weighing scales.
- The nonsensical trend likely stemmed from lyrics in a Skrilla song called Doot Doot (6 7). It then became linked to a 6ft 7in basketball player called LaMelo Ball.
- The soundbite went viral on YouTube and has since taken over social media. As it stands, there are millions of posts on TikTok that use the 6-7 hashtag.
- So the next time you hear someone say 6-7, you can be safe in the knowledge that it actually means nothing, and it’s just a silly little (or not so little) trend.
- Thankfully, the craze is showing signs of dying out because adults have started cottoning onto it and saying 6-7. That makes it highly uncool, apparently!
