Stranger Things notice small Easter egg that has them on the edge of their seats

As the first episodes of the fifth and last season have just dropped on Netflix, fans of Stranger Things have just noticed a unique Easter egg in the teaser for the show that left them amazed

Stranger Things fans are baffled after noticing a small Easter egg that has them desperate to binge-watch the fifth season as it just dropped on Netflix.

While the fourth series of Stranger Things ended in July 2022, in order to gain some attention for the upcoming fifth season, Netflix released a missing person poster showing Eleven, who was named Jane Hopper on the poster, as well as a phone number that urged people to call the fictional Hawkins Police Department if they knew anything about her disappearance that happened at the end of season four.

The poster included a large photo of Eleven, named Jane Hopper on the poster, as it went on to state that a reward totalling $3000 (£2,267) will be awarded to all leads that leads to ‘Jane Hopper or her body’, who was last spotted on the pavement near Hawkins High School. It then included a phone number at the bottom of the page for people to call.

Now, as the first episodes have dropped on Netflix, fans have just re-discovered this Easter egg, as many were desperate to know what would happen to Eleven.

Taking to TikTok, one man named Albert decided to call the number on the poster, as he’d heard from other fans that a unique surprise will be on the other side of the line.

“Netflix just dropped a missing poster for Jane Hopper, or as we know her, Eleven. And they put a phone number on it and I heard that if you call the phone number, you get like a special voice message, I guess,” he said at the start of the video.

He went on to show the screen of his phone, where he had already entered in the phone number from the poster that he was about to call.

After pressing the call button, an chilling in-world voicemail message from the fictional Hawkins Police Department. It was heard saying: “Thank you for contacting the Hawkins Police Department. Due to the recent 7.4 magnitude earthquake, Hawkins is currently under lockdown to ensure the safety of our residents.

“The Hawkins emergency task force is working closely with the Hawkins police department to locate missing persons, of which Jane Hopper is a priority. We urge you as a responsible member of Hawkins to help us locate her.”

The crackly ’80s line then disconnects, leaving a lingering sense of urgency. The moment is tied to the events of Season 4, which ended with catastrophic damage to Hawkins and left Eleven missing.

“Yo, that was cool,” Albert said, as he wanted to know what his viewers thought about the interactive detail.
