Gerwyn Price was watching a rugby match in Newport when the incident occurred, and now he has a reward on the table

Welsh darts star Gerwyn Price has issued a plea on his Instagram story and offered a reward after his coat was stolen.
The PDC World Championship begins on December 11, with Price hoping to earn the ultimate prize at Alexandra Palace. However, just weeks away from the big event, his coat has been stolen by someone in Wales. Writing on his Instagram story, he detailed that he had been watching a rugby game in a Newport bar when the incident occurred.
Price, understandably enraged, called the person a “smelly scruffy old ruff” and revealed it was Potters Pub where it was stolen. After posting that initial story, he has now told fans there is a reward worth £200 on the line to anyone who can help him find the coat. Price has even started a new hashtag ‘#findthecoat’ to locate the stolen item.
“Anyone who gets the coat back or gives any information that leads to getting it back will get £200 worth of food from Chippy 501 (Price’s fish and chips takeaway),” he wrote on Instagram.
“And a signed Iceman playing shirt. It’s not about the coat, it’s about the principle and they need to be named and shamed (punching emoji).”
A fan has also messaged Price on Instagram claiming to have key information about the coat. They wrote: “Hi mate. I was sat near you at the Dragons game. I was queuing for a taxi with my wife and a woman and a man were near front and heard the man say, ‘You have Gerwyn Price’s coat!’ They then jumped in a taxi and they were going to Cwmbran! Not sure if that helps, mate.”
Another message read: “My wife has just informed me that the couple were from Underwood just outside Newport, mate.”
The coat in question is a long black puffer from Sandbanks, with Price confirming Potters was looking at CCTV footage. “Any information on the lady that stole my coat would be much appreciated. It was a long all black puffy @sandbanks coat. Could as many people as possible share this for me please. Stole from @pottersnewport. They are looking at CCTV today,” he wrote on Instagram.
The timing of this incident is hugely inconvenient for Price, who is preparing to face Adam Gawlas on December 16 at the World Championship.
The current world champion is teenager Luke Littler, who won the 2025 edition. Littler reached the final in 2024 but was beaten by Luke Humphries.
