Corrie and Emmerdale are set to collide in January, in a catastrophically literal way. ITV have released a first look at the groundbreaking crossover episode, showing the two soaps iconic characters screaming for help.
In a teaser trailer released on YouTube on 1 December, it is revealed that Corriedale will focus on the aftermath of a disastrous multi-vehicle pile up that involves several of each soaps’ favourite characters.
This includes Corrie’s David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) and Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) and Emmerdale’s Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller). These characters are in their own vehicles when they collide on a dark country road near the fictional village of Hotten, which is just a few miles from Emmerdale.

As the emergency services arrive, the characters caught in the crash are calling for help. There is also mystery swirling around why two residents of Weatherfield have journeyed across to Yorkshire.
Fans will have to wait until January 2026 to find out. ITV will release a special one hour episode where the soaps cross over, and the names mentioned so far are not the only ones set to make an appearance.
Vicky Myers, who plays Lisa Swain, will also be in the episode. The plot is being kept tightly under wraps but Vicky and Emmerdale’s Danny were the first two announced as part of the cast.
Fans have spotted some hints to the crossover in each soap. Emmerdale’s Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) has spoken multiple times now about her work for a wedding planning company, including a few references to a Manchester based client.
One fan wrote: “Bridezilla in Manchester demanding a choir sings at her wedding, Belle?! Oh, it’s building… #emmerdale #corrie #corriedale.” They are, of course, referencing Debbie Webster’s (Sue Devaney) plan to get married this Christmas.
Emma Atkins, who plays Charity Dingle on Emmerdale, has confirmed that she is filming “flirty” scenes with Alison King, who plays Carla Connor on Corrie.
But this scene may not appear in the episode as it is one of a few that fans will get to vote on. Voting for which scenes viewers want to see in the episode will open on 1 January.
