Corrie’s Helen Flanagan reveals real reason for selling £1m home after ‘broke’ claims

Helen Flanagan reveals the truth about rumours she’s been having financial difficulties as she sells the beloved family home she once shared with her ex Scott Sinclair

Actress, reality star and devoted mother-of-three, Helen Flanagan has hit back at claims she’s ‘broke’ in an exclusive interview with OK! magazine. Responding to rumours swirling for months that she is having money problems – and that she’s selling the £1m Cheshire home she once lived in with Scott amid financial difficulties, the star tells us resolutely: “That’s not why I’m selling.”

The mum-of-three explains: “I’m not in a financial crisis. I’m moving because I really need a fresh start. Scott surprised me with this house and it was always supposed to be our happy family home. And it wasn’t that. I like to be light-hearted and I hate to sound depressing, but there is a sadness in this house.”

She goes on: “It’s been a turbulent three years since we split and I need to start afresh. I want to eventually move to London, but for now we’ll stay close to the kids’ schools. I don’t want to disrupt them. When you’re a mum, you’re thinking about the children first and foremost.”

Helen split from footballer Scott Sinclair, the father of her children, after a 13-year romance, and in May. split from her boyfriend Robbie Talbot, 45, who she was seeing while filming Celebs Go Dating last year after a year together – though she says there are ‘no hard feelings’ and the relationship simply ‘ran its course’.

As for co-parenting her lively brood Matilda, 10, Delilah, seven, and four-year-old Charlie with Scott, Helen is candid as she confesses: “When you break up with someone, emotions are raw. It can take a long time for those emotions to calm down. And sometimes, even now, we don’t get on.

“But on the whole, we can actually be in the same room together. He’s the father of my children; I was with him since I was 19 and I’m always going to have love for him – but it doesn’t mean we want to be together. I don’t have any bad feelings towards Scott, though sometimes he drives me absolutely mad.”

Given Helen has the children the majority of the time while Scott is playing football, we ask if that responsibility breeds resentment, but Helen is quick to rubbish such an idea. “No,” she says quickly. “Because he’s massively financially provided for our children, both for their future and with the house we live in.

“Also, I quite like the fact that I’ve got them most of the time. I get quite anxious without them, it would make me feel quite sad if they’re not with me. This Christmas will be sad, as they’re spending it with Scott. I’ve booked myself into panto as a distraction.”
