Donald Trump’s youngest child, Barron, has long been a source of fascination for the public and his father once offered a peculiar explanation for why the 19-year-old is so incredibly tall
Donald Trump regularly captures media attention, but he faces some rivalry from his youngest son Barron who has emerged into the public eye, thanks to his remarkable height.
The former president has provided an unusual account for why the 19 year old stands at such an extraordinary height of 6ft 7in.
Last year, whilst at his campaign headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa, Trump paid tribute to all his children – as they have also publicly expressed respect for their father.
He revealed that Barron was at home “watching on TV” and spoke about his son’s incredible stature.
‘He only ate her food’, reports the Mirror US.
Trump credited his son’s towering frame to eating meals cooked by his wife Melania’s late mother Amalija Knavs.
Trump said: “Great people, great parents to all of us, really. Great parents, but also to Barron. Boy, did she take care of Barron?”
He added: “That’s how he got so tall, he only ate her food. I said you’re gonna be a basketball player. He said, well ‘I like soccer dad’, actually. I thought… at you’re height I like basketball better but you can’t talk them into everything.'”.
The father-of-five characterised his youngest offspring as a “special boy.”
Barron has demonstrated his love for football and the English Premier League, particularly current table-toppers Arsenal.
In 2018, the teenager welcomed England and manchester-united-fc>Manchester United player Wayne Rooney to the White House whilst Rooney was representing MLS team DC United, where Barron had previously featured in their youth setup. Barron Trump, the son of former President Donald Trump, wrapped up his education at Oxbridge Academy in May 2024 and kicked off his studies at New York University’s Stern School in September 2024, recently completing his freshman year.
With Barron’s towering stature, there has been chatter from his parents about the possibility of him taking a swing at a professional sports career.
During a sit-down with Megyn Kelly, Trump spoke fondly of Barron, calling him a “good-looking kid” and hinting that he might tread the same path as his father.
Adding to the mix of predictions about Barron’s future, an astrologer who studied his birth chart has indicated that he is likely to delve into the business and real estate sectors, much like his father.
