Adolescence fans shared their confusion after spotting Brad Pitt‘s name on the credits of the Netflix hit.
The crime drama, directed by Philip Barantini, landed on the streaming service one week ago.
Adolescence follows the story of a young boy called Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper) who is arrested and accused of killing one of his female classmates.
The show has been a huge talking point since the four-part series arrived on Netflix and some have been left scratching their heads over one thing.
Some eagle-eyed viewers have pointed out that Hollywood actor Brad Pitt is named as an excusive producer at the end of the programme on the credits.
One fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: ‘Brad Pitt producing Adolescence is crazy what.’
Another chimed in: ‘Seeing Brad Pitt executive producer credit on Adolescence.’
A third questioned: ‘#Adolescence named on the credits was a Brad Pitt. Was it THE Brad Pitt or someone of the same name?’
And a fourth replied to their question with: ‘Yes, Brad Pitt was involved in Adolescence on Netflix as an executive producer.
‘His production company, Plan B Entertainment, co-produced the series alongside Warp Films and Matriarch Productions.
‘While Pitt did not act in the show, his role as an executive producer indicates he contributed to its development and production, though the extent of his direct involvement is not fully detailed.’
‘Adolescence – another Brad Pitt success,’ a fifth said.
A sixth confessed: ‘Produced by Brad Pitt on Adolescence caught me off guard.’
Meanwhile Adolescence director Philip Barantini told Radio Times of Pitt’s involvement: “Brad was on the phone with us, and he was so enthusiastic.”
The drama isn’t the first time that Philip and Brad have worked together as he has previously used Brad’s production company Plan B Entertainment.
The company has also produced the likes of Troy, Mickey 17 and The Departed.
Brad’s company was founded in 2001 with Brad Grey, Kristin Hahn and Jennifer Aniston.
Other films they’ve worked on include Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, Kiss-Ass, Moonlight and The King.
Award winning actor and producer Brad has been in the showbiz industry since the 80s.
He’s best known for starring in the likes of Troy, World War Z and Mr & Mrs. Smith, Fight Club and Thelma and Louise.
Adolescence has been a huge hit and has reached a whopping 24.3 million viewers in the first four days of release.
Many fans have begged for a second season of the show – but an insider has hinted that if a series two was secured, it might not focus on Jamie’s case.
A source told The Sun: ‘Execs are thrilled by the results and acclaim for Adolescence, it’s seen as a format that can run and run, at least to a second series if not further, as it could take in a different teen issue each series.
‘The topic has resonated with viewers because it taps into parents biggest fear and there’s plenty of scope for more in the same vein.
Stylistically, the one-take creative approach could become the hallmark of the series. It’s one of the aspects which has got everyone talking.’

He is joined by Stephen Graham as Eddie Miller, his dad, Ashley Walters as DI Luke Bascombe and Erin Doherty as Briony Ariston.
