Erin Patterson is seen for the first time after being charged over alleged fatal mushroom lunch as she fronts court

Erin Patterson has been seen for the first time since being charged over the alleged fatal mushroom poisoning of family members at a lunch in regional Victoria.

Patterson was seen arriving at the Supreme Court of Victoria on Tuesday for a hearing ahead of her coming trial.

She has longer hair and was dressed in a green jumper, black pants and sandals. She was also holding a book.

The 49-year old faces three counts of murder over the deaths of her father-in-law Don Patterson, mother-in-law Gail Patterson and extended relative Heather Wilkinson, after inviting the trio to a lunch at her home in July 2023.

Police allege Patterson cooked a beef Wellington laced with death cap mushrooms.

Patterson is also accused of the attempted murder of pastor Ian Wilkinson, who was at the lunch but survived after a long fight for life in hospital.

Patterson has pleaded not guilty. Her trial is scheduled for later this month.

Patterson has always denied any wrongdoing and broke down in tears when she broke her silence prior to her arrest in 2023.

‘The loss to the community and to the families and my own children who have lost their grandmother… I just can’t fathom what has happened,’ she said at the time.

‘I’m so sorry that they have lost their lives. I just can’t believe it.’
