Hugh Jackman is known for his rugged good looks and action hero physique, so his latest transformation has left fans doing a double take.
The 56-year-old Wolverine star took to social media on Tuesday to unveil his new appearance as he prepares to step into the boots of an English folk legend for his upcoming film, The Death of Robin Hood.
In the behind-the-scenes clip, the Sydney-born actor is sitting in a dressing room chair draped in a cape, as the makeup team works its magic.
With meticulous precision, stylists trim and style his hair before dramatically gluing on a thick brown handlebar moustache – completely changing his look as he prepares to embody the iconic outlaw.
Hugh captioned the clip with some exciting words: ‘There is a depth, camaraderie and a spirit to the entire cast and crew of The Death of Robin Hood.
‘Thank you for this wonderful experience. An honour and a privilege. Thank you Ireland! Your beauty knows no bounds.’

Actress Kate Hudson showed her approval for Hugh’s dramatic new looks as she left a flirty comment on his post.
‘Beautiful,’ wrote the Almost Famous actress, who is engaged to musician Danny Fujikawa.
The comment also earned several ‘likes’ from Hugh’s devoted fans.
‘Wowzer, what beautiful pictures,’ one follower gushed and a second added: ‘Looking sharp! Can’t wait for this.’
Hugh may have looked almost unrecognisable from his usual dashing and suave self – but he still had his trademark cheeky grin.
While Hugh is now best known from the Wolverine franchise, the Sydney-born actor has been a darling among fans of musical theatre for decades.
The starring roles that brought him fame as a great song and danceman include the Peter Allen musical The Boy from Oz, The Music Man and Oklahoma.
His latest role comes amid news that Hugh is reportedly planning to marry his girlfriend Sutton Foster after he finalises his divorce from Deborra-Lee Furness.

The Greatest Showman star went public with his Broadway co-star in January, almost two years after confirming his split from his wife of 27 years.
A source close to Hugh recently revealed his plans to marry Sutton.
‘Hugh had a lot of back and forth while he was in Australia for the holidays but ultimately, he realised how much he missed her,’ an insider told Sky News.
‘The magic came flooding back when they reunited and ultimately marriage is the end game for these two.
‘He wants to make Sutton his wife.’

Hugh and Deborra-Lee announced the end of their marriage in a shock statement in September 2023, telling fans they were ‘shifting’ and as a result had decided to ‘separate to pursue our individual growth‘.
He proposed four months later, telling Today in 2018 that he knew two weeks into meeting Deborra-Lee that they were ‘going to be together for the rest of our lives.’
