JoJo Siwa has revealed her ‘heart shattered’ watching back a clip of Chris Hughes on Celebrity Big Brother.

The duo set tongues wagging with their close and ‘flirty’ friendship in the house, with the rumour mill going into overdrive when JoJo dumped her partner Kath Ebbs, 27, at the CBB wrap party on Friday night after finishing in third place. 

And speaking on The Useless Hotline Podcast after leaving the show, JoJo, 21, admitted her ‘heart shattered when she watched back a clip of Chris, 32, breaking down in the Diary Room after their friendship was questioned by the other housemates. 

Commenting on Daley Thompson’s comments that the pair were only close for ‘airtime’, she responded: ‘You could feel the energy, it was like a grenade went off. We called it Daley’s grenade… and it it did drive a little wedge between Chris and I for a day or two.

‘[Chris] had his true breakdown and that – honestly getting out of the house and seeing that clip – shattered my heart. It shattered my heart because I knew he was sad. 

‘I was freaking out when he was in the Diary Room.’

Speaking about how they bounced back from the scrutiny, JoJo continued: ‘It was hard because we were feeling like people don’t think our friendship’s genuine so we need to a clarify with each other is our friendship genuine.

‘That was the quickest thing to clarify, yes it is. 

‘Then we needed to clarify how do you feel about this with other people thinking this? And for me personally it made me feel like now I couldn’t be friends with you… like I had to be on eggshells.

‘Once we kind of worked that out it, honestly helped once it was aired out, it was like we said “F**k it.” And then it was it was beautiful from then on out.’ 

JoJo’s bond with Chris was strong from the beginning, but she began to realise how much she trusted and respected him after she was at the receiving end of homophobic taunts from Hollywood veteran Mickey Rourke, 72. 

Viewers were left in shock after he branded JoJo a ‘f*g’ and said he could ‘turn her’ after she confessed to ‘liking girls’. 

Reflecting on the incident, she explained how Chris was there for her during her ‘lowest times’, adding: ‘that’s what made me be like  “Oh he’s a good man.” 

‘People say things but he he did not need to do that in that moment he could have also just said “Mickey no” and just said that.

‘But he actually stood up and he explained why [Mickey] can’t say that. And for for him to do that – to do that on day two – you don’t know me.’

Adding that Chris also made a sweet act that wasn’t aired, she confessed: ‘He offered to swap beds and then he had another conversation with Mickey after double downing explaining why that’s not okay. 

‘He really he took on that role responsibly and it it was beautiful to see… that showed Chris’s true personality.’ 

Chris and JoJo broke their silence on their strong bond when they appeared on Monday’s episode of This Morning.  

During they addressed the speculation around their relationship with JoJo saying of their friendship: ‘Obviously we’re close.’

Chris added: ‘Our friendship is, it’s hard to explain. It’s just a really strong bond. A strong friendship. You can have a soulmate friendship. I think that’s a thing.’

Host Ben Shepherd asked if she wanted anything more, to which JoJo said: ‘Look, he’s a great guy. It’s platonic. We have a lot of fun together. I don’t know the future, whatever life does, it will do.’

JoJo also revealed more details about her split from former partner Kath, saying: ‘Honestly when I went into the house, day one was fun, day two fun, but then day three I was in my own thoughts, away from everyone I know and outside opinions.

‘I sat with myself and really realised things I was okay with in my life I never should have been okay with. So many things.

‘Obviously I wanted to hold them inside, didn’t want to air it out publicly. There were things I knew I shouldn’t be okay with and I’m not happy.’

JoJo continued: ‘I knew as soon as I got out I wanted to fix things and make the changes I needed to make.

‘The first thing you want to do is exactly what you need to make it as good as you can.’

Recounting how the pair ended things at the show’s wrap party, she elaborated: ‘I’ll be honest, that was not a plan or my intention. It wasn’t supposed to happen like that’.

‘They weren’t going to come, then an hour into the party they attended, one thing lead to another, they asked if I was happy and I said no. The conversation took place there.’
