Orlando Bloom has been fiercely criticized for sharing and then deleting a picture of him and his naked daughter Daisy on the beach to social media, before re-uploading it with an emoji covering her.
Over the weekend, the Lord of the Rings actor, 48, posted a carousel of photos of him enjoying spending quality time with his four-year-old, whom he shares with ex-fiancée Katy Perry.
While Orlando looked ever the doting dad as he carried Daisy into the ocean to go swimming, many berated him for uploading the ‘inappropriate’ photo.
He had seemingly previously posted the picture hours before without a yellow love heart emoji covering her.
Social media users, however, were outraged by his actions and branded him ‘out of touch’ for the post and ‘detached from reality.’
Taking to Reddit, one said: ‘Some parents are such idiots. They don’t post this child’s face on social media, so they do understand privacy but then post a naked pic. Make it make sense.’
Another agreed, adding: ‘I can’t help but feel like you have to be so out of touch to think it’s okay to post a naked photo of your daughter, to a huge fanbase, and not consider the repercussions.
‘I can understand how that might be a meaningful photo for a parent, but not on the interweb for millions to see.’
A third chimed in: ‘Poor thing. I know having everything you desire would be nice, but having a celeb as a parent sounds like a special kind of headache for kids. Having a guardian so detached from reality is scary.’
‘Do people not have common sense?’ asked another. ‘Why are you posting your four-year-old naked on social media?
‘I’m not saying him posting it was ill-intent or anything, but there are people on social media who will use it for ill-intent and inappropriate reasons.’
Others defended Orlando.
Commenting on the Instagram, one said: ‘She’s gonna be four… I don’t understand everyone’s comments here. She’s going swimming with her father. Again she is four. This is not, not a normal thing… he covered her butt in the picture..
‘I used to run around naked until I was almost seen and a lot of the kids I grew up with did also. It’s innocent and the fact that people are trying to make it weird ARE WEIRD AF.’
Another added: ‘Why are people saying protect the child… Jeez my childhood photos would have had loads of stickers over them, bare butts everywhere.’ (sic)
Over the weekend, Orlando also posted a picture of him and Daisy joined by a male friend and a young boy as they soaked up the sun on a patio overlooking the ocean before heading to the beach with a bucket and spade.
The Hollywood actor, who was dressed in a black jumper and shorts, beamed as he tickled his little girl as she sat on his knee.
Taking in the picturesque sunset, he also captured Daisy running along the beach flying a large kite.
Elsewhere in the gallery of photos, the Pirates of the Caribbean star sat in a blue car with his adorable pet pooch before taking in the sites on a bike ride.
In all of the other photos, Daisy was clothed, and he did not share her face.
He wrote: ‘Some fun being had [sun emoji]’
It comes after Orlando reacted to a joke that he is romancing a world leader just days after his ex Katy sparked up romance rumors with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Last week, Katy was seen enjoying a dinner date with Justin in Montreal amid her Lifetimes Tour.
Despite their seemingly intimate meal, a source has told the Daily Mail that those close to the singer do not believe their rendezvous was anything serious.
On Friday, the satirical news site The Onion poked fun at the romance speculation by sharing a seemingly AI photo on Instagram of her ex Orlando on a date with former German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
He appeared to understand the reference and playfully jumped to the comment section to add clapping hand emojis.
The caption of the post read: ‘Just weeks after announcing his split with fiancée Katy Perry, English actor Orlando Bloom was photographed Friday dining with former German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
‘Angela kept Orlando laughing all night – he couldn’t keep his eyes off her!’ said an insider source who spotted the pair sipping wine, slurping oysters, and splitting a decadent piece of chocolate layer cake at a Michelin-starred restaurant.’
In late June, it was revealed that Katy and Orlando officially called it quits after dating for nine years.
At the time, a source told Us Weekly: ‘Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable,’ while also adding that the separation has been ‘not contentious’ thus far.
‘Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.’
The Teenage Dream hitmaker was previously married to Russell Brand from 2010 until their divorce in 2012.
The insider further added that the reported breakup had been ‘a long time coming’ and that their relationship had also been ‘tense for months.’
And representatives for the two stars also confirmed to DailyMail.com: ‘Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting.
‘They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is – and always will be – raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.’
