Repair Shop star Jay Blades, 55, appears in court accused of controlling and coercive behaviour against his ex-partner – after being charged with rape

The Repair Shop presenter Jay Blades has appeared in court accused of controlling or coercive behaviour charge after being separately charged with two counts of rape.

The BBC star, 55, appeared at Worcester Crown Court via video link for a preliminary hearing over the charge which relates to his estranged wife Lisa-Marie Zbozen.

Blades was charged last September for the offence which allegedly took place between January 1 2023 and September 12 2024.

He denied the allegation when he appeared at Worcester Crown Court last October. 

His court appearance comes a day after he was charged with two counts of rape. 

Police said in a statement on Monday night that the 55-year-old father-of-three would appear at magistrates’ court next Wednesday. 

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: ‘Jason Blades, 55, of Claverley in Shropshire, has been charged with two counts of rape.

‘He is due to appear at Telford magistrates’ court on 13 August 2025.’
