Shocking moment British tourist, 66, is left with a broken arm when he is thrown to the floor after getting into a fight with Thai bar girl and punching her in the face

This is the shocking moment a British tourist was left with a broken arm after he was hurled to the ground during a fight with a Thai bar girl.

George Lilley, 66, punched the 39-year-old woman in the face when she refused to have drinks with him at a bar in Pattaya, Thailand

He was said to have insulted her after she turned down his request at the Lanon Bar in the early hours of this morning.

The woman, whose name was given only as Sureerat, can be seen on the CCTV footage grabbing his face.

Mr Lilley, from Leeds, West Yorkshire, then fought back, repeatedly smashing his fist into her face in front of shocked guests.

The CCTV footage also shows the Thai bar girl hurling a glass at Mr Lilley’s face as he hit her with his right fist.

Sureerat can be seen staggering backwards as a male customer pushes Mr Lilley away, causing him to crack his right arm on the pavement.

A Thai man kneels down on the floor to help him, before medics arrive and take him to the hospital.

A Pattaya City Police spokesman said: ‘The CCTV clearly captured the incident, and our officers have collected the footage to include in the case file to ensure a fair investigation for everyone involved.’

Sureerat said: ‘He gave me a drink and wanted me to entertain him, but I had to look after the other customers.

‘He was upset and started shouting at me and punched me in the face. Other customers stepped in and pulled him away. That’s when he fell and was injured.’

Tourists have repeatedly become entangled in crime and violence in Pattaya – which is located on Thailand’s eastern Gulf coast and is known for its wild night life.

Embarrassed officials in the central government have launched tourism initiatives to attract families and rebrand Pattaya as a safe destination.

Authorities have also introduced safety measures, such as improved lighting and CCTV.

Despite some success in cleaning up the town’s image, alcohol and sex remain its biggest draws, often leading to a high rate of crime and accidents.
