People have been left in stitches over a baby’s adorable reaction to a team scoring a goal in a football match. The little boy is seen sitting next to his dad on the living room sofa with his eyes glued to the TV screen, watching the match unfold.
But as the father-son duo lean in to the screen to watch one of the teams score a goal, the young boy cheers while his dad falls back with his head in his hands. Realising his mistake, the toddler quickly changes his reaction to match his dad’s.
The video, which has been shared more than six million times on X (formerly Twitter), is captioned: “Baby boy realises that he is happy for the wrong team and immediately corrected the situation. We’ve all been there!”
Commenting on the clip, one user said: “This goes on to show you that kids soak up everything they see and hear. That’s why it’s important to be mindful of what you do , say, and what they watch.”
Another user added: “It’s true! He saw the goal happen and got happy! Only later did he realize it was from the other team. His reaction was to imitate his father! That’s why a father’s presence is so important in a child’s life!”
A third user said: “The kid is going by the play. The dad is going by the team.” One more user added: “That baby boy is more adaptable than many adults… see how quickly he read the room and made the necessary adjustments.”
A final user said: “I’m with the little boy. I never understood having a favourite sports team. When I watch sports it’s all about who can make better moves and who has better skills. The boy was cheering for a skilful execution when a point is scored.”
It comes after a mum shared her amusement over her daughter’s adorable note informing her school has been cancelled for a week. The cheeky youngster tried to trick her mum into allowing her to stay home from school by impersonating “the school company” in a handwritten letter.
It reads: “The school company is taking a brake [break] so the kids will get one more week off school. We will need your child to sign their name here.”
The little girl, named Cara, saved her mum the trouble of signing her name by doing it for her and even went to the effort of stamping on a picture of Rapunzel to really seal the deal. Sharing the letter on Reddit, her mum wrote: “My daughter got the mail today (it’s Sunday). Apparently, they have another week off school.”
