Gladiators fans were left demanding ‘justice’ following a surprise announcement during the latest episode that will impact the rest of the series.
The BBC’s hit revival has captivated audiences since its return for a second season at the start of the year. During tonight’s (March 15) episode, hosts Bradley and Barney Walsh were back on our screens for the last round of the quarter-finals.
Viewers who tuned in saw the contestants go head-to-head to secure their place in the semi-finals as they tackled a number of events including Unleash and dramatic rounds of Duel. Nathan from Sunderland was taking on Andy from Bournemouth while Rachel, the daughter of former boxer Frank Bruno and from Essex faced off against Keeva from Belfast.

Not only that but one Gladiator came out to make a surprise appearance with a significant update. Hosts Bradley and Barney invited out Giant who was yet to take part in any of the events, to the surprise of some viewers. He came out to reveal that he had unfortunately sustained an injury during his most recent appearance. He explained that he has injured his bicep while taking part in Powerball.
As a result, the Gladiator would not be able to feature for the rest of the current series. It came as a blow to the viewers watching at home who were quick to share their reaction online, with many sharing their well wishes. However, quite a few were also pointing the finger.

One viewer wrote on X: “Awwww. No more Giant. No more of them thighs.” Another said: “Ah, that’s why there was no Giant/ Nathan rematch.” Quite a few blamed the contestant Andy, who was trying to earn a spot in the semi-finals this week for causing the injury.
One person claimed: “Justice for Giant!!! Andy must not win.” Another agreed: “Giant deserves justice. Hopefully Andy won’t win tonight.” Meanwhile, one person joked: “I hope Giant’s come back just to grind Andy into a fine red paste.”
Gladiators continues next Saturday at 5:50pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
