Britain’s Got Talent fans were left in stitches after Dad Andrew Hindson took to the stage to sing about how annoying his kids were – as Ant compared him to Peter Kay
Britain’s Got Talent Dad Andrew Hindson had the judges and audience in stitches as he hilariously sang about how annoying his kids were – with Ant saying he reminds him of Peter Kay. The 30-year-old started by telling the crowd that this was his first ever gig, and had just become a father for the third time.
As he sat with his guitar, the star said he’d love to do this full time – as he announced he’d written a song for his kids. Both judges and audiences were left confused when he started telling his kids to “go to sleep.”
However, it became evident that he was a comedic act when he sang the line: “I hope that you all know, today all of you have been little bas- before he paused and said “baskets.” The line had Bruno Tonioli in fits of laughter and it didn’t stop there.
As the teacher carried on with his hilarious lines, he was given a standing ovation, as Simon Cowell announced he thought it was going to be a sentimental father son type song. “But it wasn’t,” he said. “It was chicken nuggets every night,” as he tried to imitate a northern accent.
He was given four yeses from the judges and the comments kept coming as he met Ant and Dec backstage. “You remind me of an early Peter Kay,” said Ant. “You’re very funny.”
The comment got lots of reaction online as one took to X, formerly known as Twitter, as one fumed: “He’s like Peter Kay!!!!??? Really Ant, REALLY!!!?”
However, others agreed with the hosts comments, as one penned: “In a weird way, he reminds me of Peter Kay.”
“Andrew was like Peter Kay with a guitar,” laughed a second, as a third wrote: “This bearded guitarist could be really big. Vibes of Peter Kay, Jasper Carrott, Billy Connolly and Victoria Wood.”
Comedian Peter Kay has been hitting headlines as of late, as he hits out at hecklers during his UK shows. He had been slammed previously for comparing an audience member to Emmerdale star Lisa Riley at his Manchester gig in February.
However, he recently poked fun at the criticism he faced once more as he was forced to halt his latest show to make an example of one of his fans.
He asked the crowds: “Is it them in that box? Is that them? Who is it? Now then, what are we going to do with you now?
“These people in this area now, do any of you look like Lisa Riley? No, alright,” he joked as the crowd erupted into laughter.
