ITV James Martin’s cheeky remark leaves chef red-faced as she makes ‘mistake’

James Martin left a guest of his red-faced and insisted he was “only joking” when a fellow chef repeatedly made a “mistake”.

The latest episode of James Martin’s Saturday Morning aired on Saturday, March 15th, featuring guest chefs Ryan and Liam Simpson-Trotman, Sabrina Gidda, Tony Singh and The Supervet star Noel Fitzpatrick.

Each chef took turns to join James in the kitchen, with Sabrina being the last to showcase her culinary prowess by preparing a mouth-watering white veal ragu dish with Tarragon Pangrattato.

Throughout her segment, Sabrina kept referring to James as “chef”, prompting him to tease her.

He even joked about charging her every time she called him “chef”, suggesting the money could go towards a meal at Ryan and Liam’s Orwells Restaurant.

When she asked if she should add pasta water to the dish and referred to him as “chef” again, he quipped “£70”, causing her to groan.

He then jested: “I’ve got a starter and a main course so far, by the end of this I’ll get pudding at his restaurant.”

Liam joined in the fun, saying: “He only needs £5 more!”, which had everyone laughing.

Sabrina confessed: “I mean, I’m having a mare. I’m going to cut you a deal, if I do it one more time, could we just put the money into the marathon pot?”, referring to the upcoming London Marathon that the chef will be running for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

James agreed, and as they refocused on cooking, he asked if he should transfer the pasta from the frying pan to the bowl.

Sabrina started to say “yes please chef” again, but caught herself, clearly annoyed.

James jokingly celebrated, throwing his arm up in the air and saying: “That was worth a fiver, wasn’t it?”

Sabrina defended herself, claiming she meant to say “ch-” rather than “chef”, but James playfully teased her, suggesting she might have meant something else.

The chef was taken aback, saying: “Honestly, I just can’t help it.”

Noticing Sabrina’s embarrassment, James briefly put a reassuring hand on her arm and said: “I’m only joking.”

The two completed the dish, and although Sabrina did call him “chef” again, James let it slide without further teasing.

James Martin’s Saturday Morning continues every Satuday on ITV and ITVX.
