Love Island star Faye Winter considering surgical procedure to help with health condition

Faye Winter – who was a finalist on Love Island in 2021 – was asked for an update on her ‘skin journey’ in a Q&A with fans on social media recently and she’s since shared her reply

Former Love Island star Faye Winter has shared an update on her skin this week, with her revealing that she’s “really self conscious” over one particular area of her face. And she’s told fans that she is now considering a surgical procedure.

It comes following Faye, 29 – who was a finalist on the ITV2 show in 2021 – having spoken about a skin-related condition in the years since she rose to fame. She’s raised awareness of hyperpigmentation, which involves the development of darker patches of skin, whilst seeking treatment for it.

The former reality TV star was asked for an update on her skin in a Q&A with her followers on Instagram recently. One person asked her on the platform: “What’s the skin journey at the minute – would you get anymore surgery?”

Faye responded by sharing that she’s had more AgeJet treatment, which is described as plasma skin therapy. She has previously told fans that she’s had the treatment amid past discussions about hyperpigmentation.

The Guide Dogs UK ambassador also revealed in the post this week that she’s considering blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid surgery – which, according to the NHS, is cosmetic surgery to remove excess skin or fat from the eyelids – due to feeling self conscious over one area on her face.

She told her followers in her response to the fan yesterday: “I’ve just had @agejetukandireland done again.” She added: “I’m really self conscious of the eye area so I’m looking at getting a lower blepharoplasty, will keep you up to date.”

It comes just days after Faye posted about melasma, understood to be a form of hyperpigmentation in the face, in a post last Thursday. It included a compilation video that showed Faye seeking treatment, with AgeJet referenced in a clip as well as skincare brand AlumierMD International.

She wrote: “I never realised how many of us suffered with hyperpigmentation and melasma until I shared my skin journey. I’m currently trying @alumiermd_int to improve my skin but instead of hiding it I thought I’d take you on my journey too with @houseofskincareuk.”

Faye continued: “Alexis has been amazing and also allowed me to realise how common pigmentation issues are. I know we all try and hide them and some of us don’t naturally have the ‘glass skin’ but maybe we should share the journey on trying to achieve better more confident skin. Oh and obviously they don’t test on our fur friends.”

It isn’t the first time that Faye has spoken about hyperpigmentation. As reported by OK! magazine at the time, she spoke about the condition in a video that showed her without makeup that was shared last year.

She said at the time: “I didn’t realise until yesterday, how many of us suffer from hyper pigmentation issues.” She added: “I’ve had Agejet done twice and this is my second time. Last time I did try and flog it but I was too embarrassed to come on camera looking like this.”

Faye said: “The last time I had my whole face done, I saw my mum and she cried because of the way that I look. It looks worse before it looks better.” She’s attributed her experience with hyperpigmentation to years of sun expose, warning: “Wear sun screen kids, try not to get sun damage.”
