Linda Nolan has received a major honour at this year’s Olivier Awards. The star tragically died after a long battle with secondary breast cancer in January, but has not been forgotten.
Linda, who worked as a columnist for the Mirror after her long time in showbiz, died at the age of just 65 from double pneumonia, with her immune system left weakened by her cancer and treatment.
The Loose Women star had a sparkling career on stage with The Nolans and as a theatre actress, having performed in the likes of Blood Brothers, Prisoner: Cell Block H and appearing on dozens of popular TV shows.
The Olivier Awards are taking place this evening, and the organisers have rightly remembered Linda’s commitment to the arts by including her in this year’s ‘In Memoriam’ segment.

For those not attending the ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall in London or following along at home, Linda has featured on the award show’s website in a gallery to “acknowledge members of the theatre community who have left us from 4 April 2024 through to 10 days before the Olivier Awards 2025.”
Linda is featured in a black and white image with flawless makeup and sparkly earrings, with her memorial reading: “Linda Nolan. Actor & Recording Artist.”
This isn’t the only way Linda will be remembered after her death, with the Nolan family revealing that they’ve introduced a new tradition to mark her birthday on February 23 – inspired by the way they honour their other late sister, Bernie.
Speaking at Linda’s funeral on February 1, Denise Nolan-Anderson shared: “We remember Bern on her birthday with Vodka mules. Linda’s will have to be Peach Melbas.”
Linda was laid to rest at St Paul’s Church in Blackpool – the same church in which she married her husband, Brian Hudson – with hundreds of mourners arriving to remember the star alongside her loved ones.
It was revealed that Linda herself had a hand in how she was honoured on the day, leaving instructions for her family to ensure her funeral followed her wishes.
Anne Nolan described Linda’s hilarious demands while speaking to Susanna Reid and Ed Balls on Good Morning Britain.
“It was very emotional, very sad, but on the other hand it was kind of joyous as well. I mean, she picked her own coffin, the pink glittery coffin was her idea,” Anne revealed.
She then shared: “Oh the other thing she wanted, she wanted us to wear mantillas. You know, the scarf things that you wear? The lace things? So my daughter and Coleen actually ordered them online.
“When they came, we chatted about it, and we said, ‘I think she might’ve been having a laugh there!’ I don’t really think she wanted us to wear mantilla, so we didn’t wear them. But, that was the kind of humour she had.”
Coleen Nolan shared more about Linda’s handpicked statement coffin, sharing: “The one thing my sister loved was bling – her trainers had bling on them, her handbags, her tops, her walking stick – so it feels right that she has a glittery pink coffin.”
