A body has been found in the search for a missing man from Essex. A police search was underway for missing Steven Baker before the tragic discovery was made.
The 50-year-old from from Gestingthorpe in Essex, was last seen in Sudbury on Tuesday November, 18. Police have reported that the body of a man was discovered on Friday evening (November 28) in Sudbury.
Steven had connections to Essex and Hertfordshire in addition to Suffolk. In the police’s original appeal they had said that they were concerned for his welfare.
The death is being treated as unexplained but there are not currently believed to be any suspicious circumstances. Steven’s family have been made aware of the latest update but formal identification procedures are yet to take place.
When reported missing Steven was described as 5 foot 10 inches tall with very long mousey-grey hair and a beard. When he was last seen, he was wearing blue jeans, brown boots and a black sweatshirt.
A file is being prepared for the coroner. A spokesperson for Suffolk Police said: “Police searching for missing man Steven Baker have found a body. Steven, aged 50, from Gestingthorpe in Essex, was last seen in Sudbury on Tuesday 18 November.
“The body of a man was discovered on the evening of Friday 28 November in Sudbury.”
