James Bond enthusiasts are clamouring for former 007 Pierce Brosnan to make a comeback in future flicks after he reminisced about his time as the suave spy on The Jonathan Ross Show last Saturday (March 29).

The dashing actor, now 71, is famed for his portrayal of James Bond in hits like GoldenEye (1995) and Die Another Day (2002), before passing the torch to Daniel Craig.

When quizzed by chat show king Jonathan Ross about any possible Bond reprisals, Brosnan confirmed that no such discussions had taken place.

Pondering over the buzz that he might return as an aged Bond, Brosnan remarked: “No-one’s spoken to me about it. I’ve heard all of the rumours. Listen, they know where to find me. Let’s see where the wind takes us.”

He continued, expressing contentment with his past as the iconic character: “It’s going to be another man’s job. I’m not looking to go there. I’m quite happy with my career. I’ve done it, it was wonderful. Delightful kind of notion to contemplate”, reports the Express.

Brosnan also weighed in on the speculation surrounding Aaron Taylor-Johnson stepping into Bond’s shoes, saying: “I think he would make a very fine Bond. He was actually in one of the movies I made called The Greatest.

“This young man we cast as ‘The Greatest’. He was so impressive then. He just had this charisma, he had this presence… so he would be good. But there’s many men on the list I’m sure.”

The former James Bond star, has been credited with influencing Daniel Craig’s decision to take on the iconic role.

Brosnan shared his thoughts, saying, “I don’t know if I helped Daniel makeup his mind. Daniel is his own man. We talked about that period of time and said, ‘Go do it. You’ve got it, run with it.'”

Despite moving on from the role, Brosnan acknowledged the lasting impact of his Bond tenure: “I’m recognised. He’s with me for life [Bond]. It was great. A magical time in my life.”

He also reflected on the opportunities that came with playing 007: “It opened a lot of doors and allowed me to go off and form my own company and make my own movies – The Thomas Crown Affair/ The Matador – it gave me access to a whole other world as an actor, employment.”

Fans have been buzzing after Brosnan’s chat with Jonathan Ross about his Bond days, with many calling for his return to the franchise.
