Three kids die in horror house fire as heartbroken mum ‘buys caskets for Christmas’

Jourdan Feasby enjoyed a joyful Thanksgiving morning with her three children Rylee Levi, 10, Connor Liam, 9, and Alena Ellen, 7, but just a few hours later they would die in a fire

A mum’s life has been torn apart after her three children died in a Thanksgiving fire.

Jourdan Feasby enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving morning with her three children before sending them to visit their dad for the November 27 holiday. But she did not know what had been a joyful moment would be the last she would share with Rylee Levi, 10, Connor Liam, 9, and Alena Ellen, 7.

Just a few hours later, Kenosha police in Wisconsin received the devastating news of a fire in a flat. Firefighters were able to put the fire out but they were too late to save the children.

Rylee and Connor died in the fire and little Alena was airlifted to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Devastated Jourdan said: “It just doesn’t seem real yet to me. And I can’t believe that this is my reality right now.”

The distraught mum continued: “I was so excited for Christmas shopping but now it’s just caskets. They brought all of this light that now I don’t have.”

Officers later said the children’s dad was treated for smoke inhalation. Jourdan added is now with other family members.

The mum continued: “You can sit here and say all you want to that I would’ve done this, this, and this, but when you’re in the situation, it’s completely different. But I will tell you that if I was in that situation, without a doubt, my kids would’ve been out or I would’ve been dead with them.”

Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire. Jourdan said she hopes a timeline of the incident can be established.

She added: “I feel so alone, to go from having my whole world to nothing. Hug your babies and enjoy them this Christmas because you could’ve been in my position and you never know when it’s the last day.”

A GoFundMe campaign was organised for Jourdan with the aim of supporting her as much as possible. The page said: “Connor, Rylee, and Alena were such bright lights in this world — each one a blessing in their own unique way. They were joyful, loving, full of personality, and deeply cherished by everyone who knew them. Losing all three of them at once is the kind of pain no heart is built to endure.

“I want to support this family in any way possible as they face the worst of the worst that could ever happen. No parent should ever have to bury their children, let alone all three at once. From funeral and memorial expenses to the basic support they’ll need in the coming weeks.”
