The neighbour had refused to take action

A woman has sparked a massive online row after revealing her neighbour’s dog keeps pooping in her front garden – and the owner refuses to clean it up. Lisa shared the drama with her followers on TikTok, where the video has already clocked up thousands of views.
The 38-year-old admin assistant regularly posts stories submitted by fans, but this one “really stood out”. The woman at the centre of the saga had already raised the issue with the dog’s owner, Rick, but nothing changed.
So she decided to take matters into her own hands. “The lady was fed up of the dog pooping on her garden,” said Lisa, from Torbay, Devon. “She didn’t mind the dog walking over it or even going toilet there as long as the owner picked it up.
“However, she had to remind him numerous times to pick it up, and when she didn’t see the dog go, she would have dog mess left there with the owner claiming he hadn’t seen it. She said she thought of other ways of dealing with it, but wanted to keep it light.
“As some suggestions included putting it back through the letterbox or throwing it at him, which she didn’t want to do. She said she made the sign to make a point in a kind of silent protest.
“The comments all agreed with the lady, but a lot of them said they would have gone further and used a spade to put it back through his letterbox.”
The woman has a small front garden with grass and a few plants. Her neighbour, Rick, in his 40s, owns a dog he doesn’t walk. Instead, he just opens his front gate and lets it roam freely.
That’s when the pup trots straight onto her garden and leaves its business behind. And Rick pretends not to notice. She’s confronted him three times, only to be brushed off with: “Dogs will be dogs.”
After getting fed up watching the dog squat on her lawn, she put up a small sign saying: “Rick, please pick up after your dog, this isn’t a public loo.”
But Rick didn’t take it well. He stormed over, accused her of “making a scene”, and has since been telling neighbours she’s making him look irresponsible. She hasn’t had any more dog mess left in her garden.
Lisa’s video has sparked more than 800 likes and a flood of supportive comments. One person said: “Did the trick didn’t it so defo not wrong.”
Another added: “Rick is lucky you didn’t put it through his letter box.” One commenter wrote: “This is funny and definitely not wrong.”
Another added: “Not wrong at all. I have dogs too and I always pick up after them.” One user posted: “Just pick it up!” While another said: “I’d return it over the fence while they’re watching me.”
