  • Jota latest

Arsenal are keeping close tabs on Liverpool’s Diogo Jota.

  • Wilshere reveals starlet’s secrets

JACK WILSHERE knows all about being an Arsenal prodigy and making an England debut at 18.

And he reckons Myles Lewis-Skelly will follow in his footsteps — then potentially become a World Cup star.

He said: “With Myles, it is not a case of, ‘Is he too young?’.

“He just wants to be in a team, wants to lead and has an incredible family around him — and that’s important as well. He’d be able to handle playing at the World Cup.

I remember my journey coming through and I was in the first team at Arsenal, then I was called into the U19s at England.

“Don’t get me wrong, at that point I was just happy to represent my country and wasn’t thinking, ‘Oh, now I’m ready for the first team’.

“But I was going from training with the first team, playing in the Champions League, playing in the Premier League, to then playing U19s.

“But we can be braver as a nation and Jude Bellingham has shown that as he went quickly into the senior team.”

ITV cameras picked up the wonderkid’s grandmother and sister cheering and hugging.

Lewis-Skelly said after the game: “I’m lost for words. I am so grateful for the manager to put trust in me. I am so happy.

“The fans made me feel at home so thank you to them.”

  • Calafiori blow

ARSENAL are sweating over a fresh injury blow to Riccardo Calafiori after the star “felt something strange” while playing for Italy.

The defender, 22, picked up the potential problem in his side’s 2-1 defeat to Germany last night.

Calafiori managed to see out the rest of the game, despite initially being forced off the field.

But he looked to be moving awkwardly.

And speaking afterwards, Italy boss Luciano Spalletti revealed Calafiori will need to undergo tests to determine the extent of his problem.

Spalletti said: “We still don’t know if he’s injured.

“Ricky felt something strange in his knee but we still don’t know.”

  • What striker should Arsenal buy?

The Gunners are in desperate need for a striker.

This season has proved that more than last, especially when Arsenal lost the firepower of Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz up top.

They have been linked with a host of forwards, from Benjamin Sesko to Alexander Isak and Victor Osimhen.

    But who should they sign?

    SunSport analyses their options below.

  • Lewis-Skelly history

MYLES LEWIS-SKELLY celebrated a goal on his England debut – and a piece of history.

The Arsenal full-back opened the scoring against Albania on his first senior Three Lions appearances.

And at the age of 18 years and 176 days, he became the youngest player EVER to score on his his first England cap.

Lewis-Skelly surpassed the record set by team-mate Marcus Rashford – who did so at 18 years and 209 days against Australia in May 2016.

  • Kean move

ARSENAL are keeping tabs on Everton flop Moise Kean in their battle to finally add some firepower up front.

The Gunners have been unable to sign a centre-forward in the last few transfer windows, leaving manager Mikel Arteta with a lack of options to spearhead his attack.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, however, the Gunners are finally looking to splash the cash for a No9 in this summer transfer window.

And Arsenal have been linked with Kean, 25, who is thriving this season with Fiorentina as he has already registered 20 goals and three assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.

  • Dowman future

Arsenal are fast-tracking Max Dowman development to prove they are the right team for him to play for.

According to Football Insider, Dowman has been integrated into first team training and was taken on the trip to Dubai to show him his pathway to the first team.

  • More injury woes

Adding to news of Riccardo Calafiori’s injury playing for Italy, now another defender has had to withdraw from his international squad.

Jurrien Timber has had to leave the Netherlands camp because of an illness.

Earlier reports suggest Calafiori could be out for up to three weeks – putting his place in the squad for the vital Champions League quarter-final in jeopardy.

It remains unknown how long Timber will be out for.

  • Williams chase

Arsenal are said to have jumped ahead of Bayern Munich in the race for Nico Williams.

Journalist Christian Falk told Caught Offside: “It’s not true that Bayern Munich are in the lead for Nico Williams.

“I think, at the moment, Williams is closer to a move to Arsenal than Bayern Munich, as the Bundesliga club can’t be as concrete as they would like as things currently stand.

“Williams is still very high on the list at Bayern, but Max Eberl, head of sport, has to sell players first. They want to sell Kingsley Coman. If they can manage this, they could take the money and use it to help sign Williams.

“Serge Gnabry is also on the for-sale list, but no club is interested at the moment. So, Bayern have to wait and see if they can make a sale for Coman.”

“It’s been written how much I love the city and the club, how well I feel there.

“I’m not thinking about the future. I just want to perform for Newcastle.

“Now we won the Carabao cup, but we want to finish strong and qualify for the Champions League. That’s where my focus lies.”

  • Arteta plots Sane swoop

Arsenal are looking to move for Leroy Sane.

  • Gunners eye Kean

Arsenal are reportedly keeping an eye on Everton flop Moise Kean.

  • Arsenal set Gabriel price

Arsenal want £100million to sell Saudi target Gabriel Magalhaes.

The Brazilian is a reported target for Al-Nassr.

They already have Cristiano Ronaldo on the books and want to make ex-Man Utd chief Dan Ashworth their new transfer guru.

But Arsenal have no intention of letting Gabriel go for less than £100m.

  • Isak to seal title charge

William Gallas reckons Arsenal MUST win the title if they sign Alexander Isak this summer.

The Newcastle ace is a target for the Gunners but would cost an English record fee.

Gallas told Spin Genie: “If Arsenal sign Alexander Isak they will have no excuses for not winning the Premier League, they could have no excuses.

“If they sign Isak and don’t win it, we will all know who has failed.”

  • Myles’ Tuchel error

Myles Lewis-Skelly revealed he mistook an Uber Eats driver for Thomas Tuchel before his first England call-up.

The ace thought he was receiving a phone call from the German, but it turned out to be someone delivering his mum’s dinner!

The Arsenal star said: “I put on my good voice. I’m getting ready and then the person that speaks says ‘we have your food, it’s outside’.

“But it was Uber Eats for my mum.”

  • Arsenal ‘could go for Grealish’

Journalist Ben Jacobs reckons it can’t be ruled out that Arsenal go for Man City’s Jack Grealish.

He told Highbury Squad: “I think Jack Grealish has a massive decision to make because he’s heading into a World Cup year, and it feels like he’s very distant from Thomas Tuchel’s plans.

“Obviously, there’s nothing yet linking Arsenal and Grealish. But as you rightly say, there might be a deal there to be had.

“And I would guess Manchester City, who don’t stand in their players’ ways would value Grealish’s outgoing, similar to Raheem Sterling, in that kind of £45million mark.”

  • Gunners launch Bruno bid

Stunning reports claim Arsenal have made an offer for Newcastle star Bruno Guimaraes.

But their £58million bid falls well short of what Toon want.

Guimaraes is believed to want Champions League football next term.

However, he will not push to leave Newcastle, who want a lot more for their star man.

  • Simons says… £67m

Xavi Simons is up for sale this summer.

  • England ban for Ben

Chris Waddle insists Ben White should be banned from playing for England after ending his exile.

Waddle said: “I wouldn’t bring Ben White back in. He said he didn’t want to be picked again and he spat the dummy out, didn’t he? So now he’s alright to play. So, he wants to pick and choose his England career?

“Listen, you would never say you never want to play for England. I would never have said that. I would have played if I was 50.

“For the time he didn’t play, he didn’t want to play, I would say, ‘Well, we’ll give you the same ban’.”
