Peter Crouch has scored more 2025 goals at Anfield than Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota as fans demand ‘bring him back’

FANS have called for Peter Crouch to come out of retirement after a shocking stat emerged.

The 44-year-old rolled back the years, scoring both goals in a legends game between Liverpool and Chelsea on Saturday.

Crouch found the back of the net with a towering header and then did his classic robot celebration before chipping in a second.

His two strikes at Anfield mean he has as many home goals as Liverpool forwards Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota have in 2025.

Taking away Jota’s singular effort in an FA Cup tie against League Two strugglers Accrington Stanley, Crouch has more than both of them.

It has led to calls for the ex-England man to get his boots back on, with one saying: “He could play alongside Mo Salah and Cody Gakpo.”

Another added: “Bring him back, he is better than Nunez.”

A third wrote: “I have seen the light, Give me Crouch for the run in.”

The stats are also grim reading for Luis Diaz as he has just one goal at home this calendar year.

In comparison, Salah has been carrying the scoring burden with seven Anfield goals in all competitions in 2025.
