  • Tweak

Luke Littler has changed his darts slightly, with an extra 3g in his weights.

That taking into account any draught from a notoriously windy stage.

There haven’t been too many complaints so far tonight though…

  • Semis taking shape

But probably not how many seen it…

So far it’s Chris Dobey vs Nathan Aspinall in one.

And Stephen Bunting will face either Luke Littler or Rob Cross in the other.

That last quarter final coming up shortly!

  • Stephen Bunting dumps out home favourite Van Gerwen!

Stephen Bunting 6-5 Michael van Gerwen

A rollercoaster of a match ending with a topsy-turvy final leg.

MVG puts pressure on the 81 left by Bunting with a 180 to leave 56.

The crowd are booing to put the Englishman off as he takes his time to compose himself.

A wonderful T19, D12 two-darter sees him edge the match and pick up a crucial two points.

For MVG, a hammer blow on home soil and for his play off hopes…

  • Stephen Bunting 5-5 Michael van Gerwen

VAN GERWEN BREAKS – WE GO INTO A DECIDER!

Bunting has blown a huge chance there. He was on 120 and hits T1 with his first dart!

He’s toiling attempting to get over the line and will need to do so against the throw in the deciding leg!

MVG makes a mess of taking out 96 too, hitting 1 before T19, D19.

  • Stephen Bunting 5-4 Michael van Gerwen

The match is still going – but Bunting will have the darts in leg 10 for the victory!

A really good 106 checkout from Van Gerwen, finishing on D16, keeps the match alive for now…

  • Stephen Bunting 5-3 Michael van Gerwen

More faffing about on the doubles for Bunting but this time doing so with MVG on 265.

Van Gerwen still can’t leave a finish on his next visit so after D16 and D8 misses, Bunting comes back to D4 and finds the corner of it to move within one of victory!

  • Stephen Bunting 4-3 Michael van Gerwen

Huge chance comes and goes for Bunting!

He misses two darts at tops to move 5-2 ahead, instead finds himself just ahead by one!

MVG himself missed a darts at tops by hitting D1 instead, so comes back for 38 and goes straight at D19, needing one dart for it.

  • Stephen Bunting 4-2 Michael van Gerwen

    Daylight for Bunting!

And in style too as he leaves himself with six darts to take out 70, with Van Gerwen only managing to leave 184 with his visit.

Bunting hits two singles in 20 and 18 to leave 32 and pins the D16 to open up a gap!

  • Stephen Bunting 3-2 Michael van Gerwen

    BUNTING BREAKS AGAIN!

Just as it looked like the match was turning, Bunting produces a great finish to edge ahead again!

MVG can’t find a finish on 99 and Bunting returns needing 96 and emphatically knocks in the T20, D18 two-darter to move in front.

  • Stephen Bunting 2-2 Michael van Gerwen

And we’re level after MVG breaks!

His scoring has got slightly better but crucially for him, Bunting’s has disappeared altogether.

Van Gerwen leaves 82 and a 100 from Bunting sees him only leave 144.

Not too much pressure on the 82 but he comes back to the board and takes it out to level things up at two-each!

  • Stephen Bunting 2-1 Michael van Gerwen

Much better from MVG – yet he still almost managed to throw it away!

On 94 with Bunting on 308, MVG finally hit D10 at the fifth time of asking, with Bunting closing in on a one-dart finish himself.

  • Stephen Bunting 2-0 Michael van Gerwen

Convincing again from Bunting – he’s completely outplaying the Dutchman on Dutch turf!

MVG was back on 265 (two hundred and sixty-five) when Bunting comes back to the oche needing 72.

He goes T20 first and follows it up with D6 for a terrific two-dart finish!

  • Stephen Bunting 1-0 Michael van Gerwen

    BREAK OF THROW STRAIGHT AWAY!

MVG not quite settled yet, his scoring was really poor there.

Bunting with three darts to take out 32 with MVG not pressuring it by only leaving 134 behind him.

Bunting does need all three darts to take out the 32 but he won’t mind – an early lead.

  • Stephen Bunting 0-0 Michael van Gerwen

Important game in the context of the league table for MVG.

And he’ll throw first – GAME ON!

  • Bottom half of the draw

It’s Stephen Bunting and home favourite Michael van Gerwen.

Huge cheers go up as the first man is shown on screen – and it’s a cheer for Bunting!

He’s lapping it up from the crowd and stops for a couple of selfies on the way to the stage too.

Dare I say the welcome for MVG wasn’t as good as that for Bunting.

The crowd are in full flow for ‘ohhh Michael van Gerwen’ though when he does eventually start walking towards the stage.

  • Not vintage

Nathan Aspinall much the better player in that victory over Gerwyn Price.

And he did so only averaging 90.83.

That was over two points higher than Price’s and he got double the two 180s the Welshman hit.

And of course, the big fish in there too. A superb 170 finish!

  • Nathan Aspinall is through!

    Gerwyn Price 3-6 Nathan Aspinall

    Not fully fit, no problem!

He was the better player throughout and an injured Nathan Aspinall comes through a 6-3 victor to claim at least two crucial points tonight!

Another routine hold of throw seals it by tidying up the 16 left and he’ll face Chris Dobey in the semis!

  • Gerwyn Price 3-5 Nathan Aspinall

Great hold from Price as a match-dart comes and goes for Aspinall.

The Asp missing D20 for a superb 135 checkout after a bullseye, T15 combo.

Price had left 62 and ends up with just one dart at D20 and finds it to keep the match alive!

  • Gerwyn Price 2-5 Nathan Aspinall

Aspinall is within one of victory!

He hits a timely 140 to leave 48 and Price can’t respond taking out a big finish.

he himself leaves 32 so the pressure is on this Aspinall visit and he hits 16 before his third dart sneaks between the two on the board and into D16. A cracking throw and he needs to win one of the next four!

  • Gerwyn Price 2-4 Nathan Aspinall

Price looks to have chucked it here the speed he’s throwing at.

Having said that he leaves 89 and Aspinall is back on 180, so it doesn’t need to go in this visit.

But three quick darts later he pins D20 and moves to within two!

  • Gerwyn Price 1-4 Nathan Aspinall

Good hold from Aspinall but he rode his luck a little there!

Three missed darts to finish off 28 and Price gets a big chance to break, but misses darts at bullseye and two at D12.

Aspinall had left 7 so came back needing a two-dart combo to wrap the leg up and he does so via 3, D2.

  • Gerwyn Price 1-3 Nathan Aspinall

Oh, Nathan stop that – WHAT A BREAK! THE BIG FISH!

He leaves another finish after nine darts, only this one is 170.

Price hasn’t left a finish anyway so he doesn’t NEED to take this 170 out.

But T20, T20 and a geeing up of the crowd only means one thing. BULLSEYE! Right back in the middle and there’s daylight now.

  • Gerwyn Price 1-2 Nathan Aspinall

Aspinall ahead for the first time tonight, hitting a very smart 12-darter to take the lead.

He leaves 41 after nine darts, too. One missed dart at D16 meant he had to wrap up on D8 and takes it out well.

    Imagine he was fully fit…

  • Gerwyn Price 1-1 Nathan Aspinall

Great response from Aspinall to BREAK right back!

Aspinall is outscoring Price at the minute and has six darts from 208 to level it up.

A good 140 leaves 68 and when coming back he pins T20, D4 in a two-darter to make it 1-1.

  • Gerwyn Price 1-0 Nathan Aspinall

    PRICE BREAKS!

A bit of a scruffy end to the leg as Aspinall misses three at D20 having set up tremendously well.

Price nips in with a 112 checkout, finishing on tops, and a huge Welsh roar at a big break to start.
