Woman suffers life changing injuries after being mauled in horror ‘XL bully’ attack as riot police rush to Bristol home

A WOMAN has been mauled by a suspected XL Bully after it attacked her inside a home.

Riot cops swarmed the property, on Sutton Avenue in Bristol, after the alarm was raised at around 4.15pm today.

Emergency services rushed the victim, believed to be in her 40s, to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries.

Police protected themselves with shields as they seized the mutt before it was removed by specialists.

They dog is believed to be an XL bully, but the breed has not been confirmed and it is not yet known if the dog belonged to the victim.

Avon and Somerset Police said: “A woman has gone to hospital after being bitten by a dog at a home in Sutton Avenue, Bristol.

“The woman, believed to be in her forties, went by land ambulance, with injuries currently described as potentially life-changing, after emergency services were called to the address at about 4.15pm on Thursday 10 April.

“Police used protective shields to ensure their own safety while entering the address.

“The dog is secured at the property and officers remain at the scene pending the arrival of specialist dog handlers.”
